May be from the town of Berrien in the department of Finistere. He was a Huguenot, forced to flee France and took refuge in Holland.16th and 17th centuries Fled from France to Holland, thence came to New Amsterdam, 1669, settled at Flatbush L.I. moved to Newtown, L.I. 1685 was deacon and tax commr.
