      "One of the saddest occurrences we have ever been called upon to record was the deaths of Mrs. Hattie Howell and her sister, Miss Mary Kilpatrick. These accomplished ladies died Thursday of last week at the home of their father, Dr. Kilpatrick, near White Plains, Greene County. "

DAR ID Number: 46194 Born in Greene Co., Ga. Descendant of Alexander Carswell, Ensign John Carswell and George Palmer. Daughter of Rev. John Hamilton Carswell and Frances M. Janes, his wife. Granddaughter of John Franklin Carswell and Mary Jones Kilpatrick, his wife. [p.90] Gr-granddaughter of Alexander Carswell and Mary Palmer, his wife. Gr-gr-granddaughter of John Carswell and Sarah Wright, his wife; George Palmer and Mary Cureton, his wife. Gr-gr-gr-granddaughter of Alexander Carswell and Isabella Brown, his wife. Alexander Carswell (1727-1803) was a soldier in the revolution. He was born in Ireland; died in St. George Parish, Va. John Carswell (1760-1817) served as ensign in the war of the revolution and he and his father received bounty land for service in the war. He died in Burke County, Ga. George Palmer (1750-1820) received a grant of land from the State of Georgia for revolutionary service. [5, 6]
