      Harold D. Deveraux, 88, died on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at Wilmington Hospital.
      He was the husband of the late Bettie Harrington Deveraux, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage.

      Born in Shamokin, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Effie Deveraux. He attended Lehigh University and afterwards moved to Wilmington where he spent his entire career at the DuPont Experimental Station.

      He was a life member of the DuPont Country Club where he played golf for many years. He was an avid cyclist, and also enjoyed league bowling. He was keenly interested in photography, music and furniture making. He and his wife vacationed at Ocean City, MD.

      He was predeceased by his sister, Edith Brida, and brothers, Charles Deveraux and Elmer Deveraux. He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
      Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
      Memorial contributions may be made to the Tri-State Bird Rescue and Research, Inc., 110 Possum Hollow Road, Newark, DE 19711 or to a charity of choice.
