      "Dorothy Louise "Dottie" Davison - Halifax Herald 12/9/2004 - DAVISON (Hebb), Dorothy Louise ""Dottie"" - 85, Halifax. It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of a loving mother, wife and friend, Dorothy Davison, who passed away on December 7, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Bridgewater on September 16, 1919, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Harold J. and Harriet M. (Harlow) Hebb. Dorothy graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1937, and then enrolled in the Nursing Program at the Halifax Infirmary, graduating in 1941 a Registered Nurse. She enlisted in the Royal Canadian Army in October 1942, with the rank of Second Lieutenant. She was promoted to First Lieutenant in April 1943. Dorothy returned to the Halifax Military Hospital in June of 1943, retiring in 1945. Dorothy was married in Bridgewater on October 20, 1948, to William ""Bill"" Davison. She and Bill moved to their home of over 54 years, in Westmount Subdivision in Halifax, where she will be missed by many good friends and neighbours. At the age of 60, Dorothy enrolled at Dalhousie University, where she graduated first in 1985 with a B.A. in History, and then several years later with her Master's degree in History. She was a member of Scotia Branch Legion No. 25. Dorothy was an avid reader, and enjoyed gardening and the companionship of her cats, Katie and Taffy. She is survived by her sons, John, Ottawa, and Paul and his partner Tim MacKay, Halifax; many cousins, including Ina, Dorothy, Glenda, Goodie and Isabel. She was predeceased by her husband, William ""Bill"" Davison, and brother, Douglas in infancy. Special thanks to Dr. Michael Banks, Cindy Bell, and the staff of 8.1 at the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be Friday, December 10, from 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., where the memorial service will be held Saturday, December 11, at 11 a.m., Rev. Patricia Malin officiating. A reception will follow. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Bridgewater at 2 p.m. A reception will follow the burial at a family member's home.
