Notes |
- His will dated 19 April 1816, Edgefield Co., SC
His twin brother Albert died as an infant.
Findagrave notes:
Edmund Heard was a son of George Heard and Edna PERRIN Heard of Edgefield District, South Carolina.
He married Elizabeth Thompson on 6 March 1837, at Augusta, Georgia, daughter William Thompson and Hannah BROOKS Thompson. Edmund and Elizabeth lived in Augusta and were the parents of seven children, two of whom died young. Edmund and his father-in-law were engaged in the cotton brokerage business in Augusta. The business failed, and Edmund tragically committed suicide. His widow worked as a schoolteacher, and successfully raised their five surviving children. [4, 11]
