    Notes from E. Parker Todd:

    "Michael Todd, Jr., led a much quieter life than did his father. He does not appear frequently in the records of Dorchester County and he died relatively young, probably only in the early to mid 40s at the time of his death. His widow, Mary may have still been living as late as 1776 when a woman aged 50 to 60 was listed in the household of David Todd (son of Michael & Mary) in that year. This would place Mary's birth at about 1717 to 1726, most likely closer to 1717 as David's age was listed as 40 to 50 and I assume that his birth occurred about 1730. Thus if Mary was indeed the lady living with David in 1776 she gave birth to him at the very young age of 12 or 13 at the latest. This is not unheard of at the time and it was common for girls to marry before they reached 16. It is known that Michael & Mary's last child, William, was born on the 4th of May 1746. This would make Mary about 29 +/- at his birth, still a young woman, and only about 31 when she became a widow."
