Deed - dated 18 February 1777 - from Thomas Howell and Ann, his wife, of Halifax County, North Carolina - to William Pryor - consideration of L 187 proclamation money - conveying 200 acres of land in Halifax County on south side of Conoconary Swamp, adjoining lands of Goff and Humphrey, being the land purchased by said Thomas Howell from Nehemiah Joyner and which Joyner purchased of John Scott, and being part of a 450 acre tract patented by said Scott, 1 February 1725 - witnessed by John Daffen and William Howell - acknowledged by Thomas Howell, and Ann Howell renounced her right of dower, at May 1777 term of Halifax Court. |
