Deed - dated 9 March 1804 - from Matthew Howell, Thomas Howell, Joseph Howell, McKinnie Howell and William Howell of Halifax County, North Carolina, and Thomas Rhodes and Sally, his wife of Bertie County, North Carolina - to Thomas B. Hill of Halifax County, North Carolina - consideration of $8,540 - conveying 610 acres of land, on north side of Conoconary Swamp, in Halifax County, adjoining land of George Smith, per lines of original patent of said 610 acres of land - witnessed by John Tillery, William Stuart and John Pearce - proved by the oath of John Tillery at a Halifax County Court held August, 1804.
