A Carlin from Canada

Carlin -> Boyer -> Howell

The U.S. Census evidence is quite compelling to say that John Carlin born 1822 in Canada, occupation “Morocco Dresser”, and his family are indeed ours. The census indicates “mother tongue: Irish.”

John William Carlin

Our Carlin line begins with John William Carlin. He became the Base Commander of the Philadelphia Arsenal and married Mary Murchie of Ireland.

Carlin connection to Rowen and Grant

Carlin family links to Tetlow, Rowen, Grant, Schillingsford. The missing link was knowing that Katherine Carlin [see tree here] (Called “Aunt Kate” by Elizabeth Mary Carlin) was John William Carlin’s sister
